1 Year Anniversary of Foreign Objectz
An Open Mic Might Predicated on Story Telling.

Join us on Monday Night 3/25 as we do a year in revue and formally invite any and all performers and presenters who have played our humble stage at HopsScotch.

What a delight to have had Story Tellers, PlayWrights, Play Readings, Poets, Improv,
A monthly Podcast, Singer Songwriters, Rappers, and Musicians Galore!
We have had folks from all walks of life who have shared their respective journey in one form or another at our Monday Night open Mic Night which we predicate on Story Telling.
We’ve had Dreamers, Witches, and Law Enforcement get up and share slices of life that are often humorous, sad, evocative, challenging and the like.
We’ve had musicians who have traveled the country sharing original songs that blend beauty, pain and joy.
We’ve had Stand Up Comics and Poet Farmers who held a mirror to society and at the same time shined a light on themselves by opening up who they are and why they are.

It is An eclectic bunch of misfits, clowns, jokers, longhairs, long beards, golfers and beauties that have hopped on our stage this year.

 Monday night is for anyone, but not for ‘everyone’….it takes an open mind/heart…
But if you like to laugh at yourself, in an attempt to make sense of this wild ass ride we are all on!? Well then it’s for you…please join us for a special night.

You want to get something off your chest? Do it.

Why do you like that song? What about it makes you feel good? Or makes you feel sad? Or makes you feel…oh Feelings!! 

Are you an actor who’s working on a new monologue? Perhaps brush off the dust to an old one?
Come try.

Perhaps you are a writer who has a new scene for that screen play youve been working on, and you’d like to hear it out loud? Bring it. I’ll help you cast it!

Are you an instrumentalist who has a story to share about a piece that has moved you? Come share.

Comedians: trying out some new stuff?
Do it!

Are you an improv group and looking for a 1/2 hour to do your thang!? Come on!

How bout you?
You avant-garde neon light Hula Hooper just back from Burning Man, being your unicyclist friend and do your thing!

I’m hoping to curate and cultivate a night that uses a variety of artists who want to share…something, almost anything.

If you are or know someone who wants to share send them our way!
If perhaps you or they are reticent to share- well that’s normal.
Trust when I say, it’ll be a welcoming room. All are welcome to share, or not share. Perhaps just listen and get a lay of the land.

If you do perform, or share-
I may ask some questions about the piece and why you find it interesting in the attempt to build connection between the performer and the room. Sometimes the piece may speak for itself, sometimes, perhaps not.

This will be an open mic, an invitational, it may involve live music and or improv: im hoping for a variety for sure.

Truth be told I’m not certain what will be chiseled out, but I know I’d like to work on some things, and surround myself with those who’s dreams are still entact, dormant as they may be…

At the very least here’s how you can participate:
Bring an album. Yes a VINYL Record.
Pick a song, and I’ll play it. Perhaps you can share why it means so much to you.

Every week I’ll have my humble record player there, and we will have a ‘grown up’s Music Show and Tell’
